ISLAMABAD, July 23: The water level at Tarbela has decreased by 3.4 feet in a day. According to sources, the water level at the dam touched 1,426.72ft on Friday against 1,430.12ft recorded on Thursday.

The sources said the water level in the reservoir was gradually decreasing. The level is 57.72ft higher than the dead level of 1,369ft. According to the Indus River System Authority, the level is 123.28ft lower than the dam's capacity of 1,550ft.

The inflow of water at the dam recorded on Friday was 122,700 cusecs against the last day's 135,800 cusecs. Water release was recorded at 180,000 cusecs against 155,000 cusecs recorded on Thursday.

The sources said the water level at the Mangla Dam was recorded at 1,155.85ft, which was 115.85ft above the dead level of 1,040ft. The level is 46.15ft lower than the dam's capacity of 1,202ft.

Water inflow in the dam was 18,900 cusecs against 20,959 cusecs, recorded on Thursday, while the outflow was 22,000 cusecs. The contribution of Kabul and Chenab rivers recorded on Friday was 20,900 cusecs and 36,407 cusecs, respectively.

The overall water inflow from various rim stations was 198,907 cusecs and the outflow was recorded at 259,307 cusecs. -APP
