KARACHI, July 23: The Edhi Foundation has announced almost 50 per cent reduction in its ambulance fares to facilitate the poor and needy people of Sindh and Balochistan.

The Edhi ambulance fare from Karachi to Sukkur has been reduced from Rs4,000 to Rs2,000. The fare from Karachi to Larkana which was Rs3,800 earlier has been cut to Rs2,500; from Karachi to Nawabshah it has been reduced from Rs2,400 to Rs12,00.

From Karachi to Thatta the fare has been reduced from Rs800 to Rs500 and from Karachi to Hyderabad it has been cut from 1,400 to Rs600. Similarly, the Edhi ambulance fare from Karachi to Uthal has been reduced from Rs1,200 to Rs600.

According to a spokesman for the Edhi Foundation, the fares of Edhi ambulance in the city were Rs50 for the distance of 20kms and Rs100 for 40kms. -PI
