KARACHI: Young man shot dead by robbers

KARACHI, July 23: A young man was shot dead near New Sabzi Mandi on Friday morning. Police said that Keweal Ram, 24, was going to New Sabzi Mandi when some armed men intercepted him and demanded cash.

As he tried to put up resistance, they opened fire and took away some valuables from him. Later, his body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy examination.

DIES: A five-year-old boy died from head injury when his uncle's freind threw him on the ground in Orangi Town. Police said that an orphan, Shaheryar, was playing outside his house in Rais Amrohvi Colony when his uncle's friend, Javed, came.

The boy used abusive language with Javed, on which he lift him up and threw him on the ground. Shaheryar suffered a head injury and died on the spot, police said adding that Javed has been arrested and a case has been lodged against him.
