EOBI recovers Rs903m through NAB

KARACHI, July 22: The second excellence award ceremony of Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution was held in a local hotel on Wednesday in which cash awards, shields and certificates were distributed among officers and staff , showing outstanding performance during the year 2003-04.

EOBI chairman Mohammad Shafi Malik in his welcome address highlighted the steps taken by the institution to improve its efficiency and effectiveness.

He further said that the institution recovered Rs903 million, comprising cash, shares, two cards of Karachi Stock Exchange, urban and agricultural properties with the assistance of National Accountability Bureau.

Speaking as chief guest, Nazim F. Haji appreciated the performance of the institution, and acknowledged that collection of contribution had been enhanced by Rs 443 million, from Rs 2,235 to Rs 2,678 million during fiscal year 2003-04, showing a growth of 19.82 per cent which is a great success.

Later, cash awards, shields and certificates were distributed among officers and staff, showing outstanding performance during the year 2003-04.-APP
