British HC assures CM of help in welfare plans


KARACHI, July 21: The British High Commissioner in Pakistan, Mark Lyall Grant, has assured the chief minister Sindh, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, of the British government's full cooperation towards welfare projects in Sindh.

This he said in a meeting held at the Chief Minister House on Wednesday. British Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi Hamish St Clair Daniel was also present. The UK envoy congratulated Dr Arbab on assuming the office of the chief minister.

Mr Grant discussed with Dr Arbab about extending cooperation in the education and health sectors. The chief minister apprised the UK envoy of the provincial government's priorities.

He said that efforts were being made for maintenance of law and order on priority, and firm measures were being taken in this regard. Dr Arbab said that measures were also being taken in the irrigation sector to ensure the just distribution of water. -APP
