By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 21: Former federal minister in the Nawaz Sharif Government, Syeda Abida Hussain, and her husband Syed Fakhr Imam called on Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairperson Benazir Bhutto in London on Wednesday.

A party source told Dawn that Ms Bhutto had asked the two senior politicians to play their active role in the ongoing struggle for the "restoration of democracy" in the country.

The source said Begum Abida Hussain and Syed Fakhar Imam also discussed their plans to join the PPP. He said it was expected that both the former PML-N lawmakers would soon announce their joining the PPP. Punjab PPP President Qasim Zia was also present during the meeting.
