KARACHI, July 19: An 11-year-old boy who was injured after being hit by a train at an amusement park on Rashid Minhas Road late on Sunday was struggling for his life on Monday.
According to the SHO of Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Shahbaz Mughal, Huzaifa was sitting along with his parents when got excited upon seeing the train. He ran towards it and was eventually hit by the train.
He suffered head injuries and was rushed to the Liaquat National Hospital in an ambulance that has been hired by the park's management following an incident last month in which a boy had lost his life.
Following the accident on Sunday, some people visiting the park tried to set the train on fire but police intervened and took the situation under control. However, the angry people had already done damage to the train by then.
Mr Farooq, father of the boy, told Dawn that due to the non-availability of a ventilator at the Liaquat National Hospital, Huzaifa had been moved to Ziauddin Hospital. "My son's condition has improved but he is still on ventilator," he added.
On June 22, a 13-year-old boy, Mohsin Khan, was crushed after getting into ferris wheel of a swing at Aladin Park and succumbed to his injuries later. His parents had blamed the park's management for the death.
