By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, July 18: The annual elections of the Balochistan Bar Association (BBA) were held here on Saturday. According the BBA results announced on Saturday night Abdul Wasay Tareen won the election for Bar president and Amal Khan Kakar became the vice-president.

Other office-bearers are general secretary Ghulam Mustafa Butt, joint secretary Rashid Zeb Gola, library secretary Mohammad Shoiab and treasurer Khushi Mohammad.

PMAP: The Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has voiced concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Quetta, saying that the government has failed to control the increasing incidents of robberies in the city.

In a statement here on Sunday, the party announced to hold a protest march and public meeting on July 22 against increase in theft incidents in Quetta. It said thefts in Killi Muslimabad, Chaman Housing Scheme and Killi Shabo proved that police and other law enforcement agencies failed to apprehend the criminals.

QDA: The Quetta Development Authority has been directed to issue a No Objection Certificate and site plan to transporters at the new bus stand at Hazarganji within three days so that the bus stand can be shifted from Satellite Town.

A delegation of transporters who have been allotted plots in the new bus stand met the district nazim on Saturday asking to be issued site plans and an NOC in order to start construction work. The delegation reminded the nazim that the vegetable market had already shifted to Hazarganji wherein bank branches, telephone exchange and a post office have opened in the new complex.
