Selectors shortlist Pakistan 'A' probables

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, July 16: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has short listed 20 players out of a total of 35 probables of Pakistan "A" team attending the training camp at the Qadhafi Stadium for next month's tour of Kenya.

The omission of all-rounder Salman Qadir, the son of former Test all-rounder Abdul Qadir from the list is a surprising one.

The final team will be announced on July 24 to take part in the three-nation tournament in Kenya from Aug 11. But the team will leave for Kenya on Aug 2. Besides Pakistan "A", Indian "A" and the Kenyan senior side are featuring in the three-nation tournament.

PROBABLES: Salman Butt, Taufeeq Umar, Naveed Lateef, Misbahul Haq, Faisal Iqbal, Kamran Akmal (wicket keeper), Qaiser Abbas, Mansoor Amjad, Riaz Afridi, Rao Iftikhar, Zahid Saeed, Naveed Qureshi, Junaid Zia, Bazid Khan, Nomanullah, Shahid Yousaf, Mohammad Khalil, Shoaib Khan, Nasir Khan, Mohammad Irshad.
