Fazl contacts Amin

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, July 16: People's Party chief Makhdoom Amin Fahim said MMA secretary-general Maulana Fazlur Rehman had an informal contact with him on Friday to discuss the possibility of the ARD and the MMA putting up joint candidates against Mr Shaukat Aziz from the Attock and Tharparkar constituencies.

He told Dawn that the ARD would take a decision on the subject through consultations. The MMA and the ARD are likely to meet again on Monday.

He reiterated that Ms Benazir Bhutto had nothing to do with the Surrey mansion (in UK) which the government claimed belonged to her.

The mansion was never owned by the former prime minister nor was she aware that it had been sold to somebody, the Makhdoom added.
