Bank workers apprise PM of problems

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 16: A delegation of the United Bank employees union called on Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain here on Friday and apprised him of the problems faced by them before and after the bank's privatization.

The delegation, headed by central secretary-general of the union Malik Mohammad Hussain, informed the prime minister that the UBL's employees and officers had not been given any new salary package since the 1993's Wage Commission/Pay Commission.

They said every two years, written agreements were signed between the administrations of other banks and their unions regarding the new salary package. The delegates also alleged that the UBL's administration was violating the agreement signed by State Bank, the Privatization Commission and the bank's owners.
