QUETTA, July 15: The National Party (NP), the Balochistan National Party -Mengal(BNP-M) and the Baloch Students Organization observed the death anniversary of the July 15 martyrs on Thursday.

The parties held public meetings in Qalat and Quetta to pay tributes to the martyrs and vowed to continue their struggle to achieve constitutional rights of the Baloch people.

The National Party chief Dr Hayee Baloch, MPA Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, BNP-M President Sardar Akhtar Mengal, secretary-general Habib Jalib Baloch and BSO Chairman Amanullah Baloch spoke at the meetings.

Dr Hayee critisized the rulers for ignoring the apprehensions of the people regarding the mega projects in Balochistan. He held the government policies responsible for the backwardness of the province. Dr Hayee also condemned the dual policies of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.

Former chief minister and BNP-M leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal accused the military establishment for supporting the Punjab leadership against the oppressed nationalities.

Mr Mengal announced that baloch people would not allow the rulers to construct the mega projects including the Gwadar seaport or the cantonments at Kohlu, Sui and Gwadar as these projects would turn the Baloch community into minority.

OUTSTANDING DUES: Pakistan Petroleum Ltd Workers Union Sui Gas Field (CBA) has demanded of the government to take notice of the excesses of management of company against the employees and announced that if demands were not met then they would approach the court to obtain their rights.

Speaking at joint press conference at the press club here on Thursday, the office bearers of the union, Shabir Hussain (President) Zahoor Ali Bugti (Vice President) and Ghulam Sarwar Bugti (General Secretary) of the workers union alleged that despite there existing a written accord dated May 15, 2003, outstanding dues have not been paid. They said that the company withdrew the medical facility on June 28, 2004 to employees in Karachi.
