KARACHI, July 15: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board employees, posted in Saddar Town, will get salaries after clearance from the town nazim. The decision was taken at a meting between the KWSB managing director and the Saddar town nazim on Thursday.

The condition pertaining to the town nazim's approval before payment of the employees' salaries had been placed with a view to improve the working of the board employees in the town, it was learnt.

The meeting also discussed in detail the problems related to water supply and sewerage faced by the town, and took a number of decisions to improve the situation.

It was also decided at the meeting that the KWSB would bear the expenses of a water supply scheme in Kamil Gali in UC-3, while the Saddar Town administration would complete water supply schemes in Hijarat Colony and Shirin Colony on its own. The MD also issued NOCs for this purpose.

The KWSB MD also assured the town nazim that a campaign would be soon launched in the town for dismantling illegal water connections. The nazim identified various points where water supply lines were defective.
