SWABI: Bar continues boycott of judge

By Our Correspondent

SWABI, July 14: The Swabi Bar Association continued its boycott of the court of a civil judge on the 22nd day here on Wednesday.

The SBA has been demanding the transfer of Civil Judge Muhammad Arif Khan for his alleged misbehaviour with a lawyer, Salim Khan, who is also a leader of the Awami National Party.

According to Mr Salim Khan, he had asked the judge as to when the verdict in a case would be announced, prompting an exchange of hot words between the two. The SBA had passed a resolution demanding a judicial inquiry into the incident and vowed that it would boycott the proceedings of Mr Arif Khan's court.

It had also called for a transfer of all the cases from his court to some other court. The judge termed the SBA's demands illegal and held some lawyers responsible for the situation.
