RAWALPINDI, July 13: Robbers and thieves deprived seven people of cash, gold jewellery and two cars in Rawalpindi, police said on Tuesday.

Mohammad Gul Nawaz, a robbery victim, told Kallar Syedan police that he along with Mohammad Munir was heading towards his house when two unidentified motorbike riders intercepted them and snatched a bag containing Rs145,000 at gunpoint and escaped.

Similarly, Ahmed Khan was robbed of Rs1,500 and other valuables by four armed robbers who intercepted him in the Pirwadhai police area and escaped. Arshad Ehsan Iqbal lodged an FIR with the Westridge police, stating that he had gone to visit his relatives after locking his house.

On his return, he found the locks broken and households scattered. On listing the goods, he found gold ornaments valuing Rs180,000 and Rs20,000 in cash stolen. Prof Sajjad Hussain Khan lodged a similar complaint of theft of electronics from his house in R.A. Bazaar.

Mohammad Saqlain told the Civil Lines police that some unknown burglars broke into his house and stole away a television set, gold ornaments and Rs5,000. Meanwhile, Hameed Hussain's car (RIZ-5853) was stolen from Sadiqabad, while another car (RIZ-2037) was also lifted from the same locality.

BOY KILLED: A 16-year-old boy was killed and a cyclist injured in an accident on Rawal Road on Tuesday, police said. Mudassar, 16, was going on his motorbike when his vehicle collided with a bicycle. Mudassar died on the spot while the cyclist received injuries.
