KARACHI: Unhygienic conditions persist in Khokhrapar

KARACHI, July 13: Extreme unhygienic conditions prevail in Saudia Colony, Sector 8-B, in streets Nos 6 and 5 Khokhrapar near Madina Masjid owing to constant sewage overflow from gutters.

Defective sewerage lines are a permanent source of nuisance to people in this locality. Most of the sewerage lines need replacement or interconnections for smooth of flow of sewage as the lines laid by the KDA some years back have proved faulty and defective, and remain choked and there is no proper outlet for drainage in the area.

The locality stinks owing to non-cleaning of streets, and private sweepers hired by the area people often remain absent and there is no proper arrangement for cleaning or brooming by the Malir Town administration.

The area people have urged the authorities to order an overhaul of the sewerage lines and cleaning of streets on a permanent basis. Moreover, a katchra kundi be sanctioned for residents of Saudia Colony and Gharibabad goth near the stop of D-6 minibuses. The Saudia Colony is a KDA approved locality, duly planned by the KDA for the affectees of Malir Shed No.1. -PPI
