Kiwis in confident mood for today's final
LONDON, July 9: New Zealand plan to end their tour to England on a high note when they face West Indies in NatWest Cricket Series final at Lord's on Saturday.
Beaten 3-0 by England in the Tests, they have looked far more confident in shorter form of the game.
The news that all-rounder Chris Cairns is expected to play following an ankle injury has given them a further boost. They are taking nothing for granted, however, against a talented, but unpredictable West Indies team.
Turning that talent into a consistent level of performance has been biggest headache for skipper Brian Lara and coach Gus Logie. But performance of their batsmen in successfully chasing a target of 286 to beat England at Lord's last Tuesday suggests they are hitting form at the right time. -PPI
