KASUR, July 8: Pakistan People's Party MNA Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmad and MPA Syed Muzaffar Hassan Kazmi have criticized the district council budget, terming it a verbal trickery.

In a press conference here on Thursday, they said it was not the budget of the whole district, rather it was the budget of Pattoki tehsil and the area of Phoolnagar, being the hometown district Nazim Rana Imtiaz Ahmad Khan.

Chaudhry Manzoor said Kasur was a big tehsil keeping in view its population and area than those of Chunian and Pattoki, but its share of allocated funds was lesser than the other tehsils.

He said he did not mean to reduce the funds of other tehsils, but the people of Kasur also wanted development. He expressed his grave concern over the 'apathy' of the Kasur Nazims who did not press for the rights of their respective areas.

He announced publication of a white paper on the budget shortly. MPA Muzaffar Hassan Kazmi demanded to revise the budget in order to carry out across-the-board development.

He said the people of Kasur should be saved from the poisonous water by completing the neglected scheme of Rohi Nullah. The MPA said the Punjab government's grant was too meagre to complete the mega projects. He said the district government should give money as the tehsil council had no funds for the purpose.
