By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 4: The Human Rights Council of Pakistan chairman, Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar, has said the continued detention of Asif Ali Zardari is a clear violation of the Article 25 of the Constitution as well as the International Charter on Human Rights.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Mr Tarar said the PPP leader had been granted bail in 12 cases, but was in jail in the BMW case.

The council chairman said in narcotic case, the then interior minister and present prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had admitted that a fake case was filed against Mr Zardari.
