PPP foresees fresh elections

KARACHI, July 4: The MNA of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Nawab Muhammad Yousaf Talpur, has said the house of cards built by the Musharraf Regime is about to collapse, asking party workers to get ready for fresh elections.

According to a press release issued here, he was talking to party workers from Mirpurkhas. He said the artificial system aimed at curtailing the prestige and power of the parliament was on its way into extinction.

The ouster of Mir Zafarullah Jamali following a day after meeting of the controversial National Security Council proved that he was the first victim of the supra-constitutional body, where extra-constitutional decisions could be enacted, he remarked.

Mr Talpur said the PPP was being hounded and targeted by the dictatorship for demanding true democracy and a free and independent parliament above all non-elected forums.

He said the country's popular leadership was facing hard times at the hands of dictators, adding the PPP which lost its founder chairman in "jihad" against dictators would face every situation with pride. - PPI
