LARKANA, June 2: The medical superintendent of the Chandka Medical College Hospital inaugurated a neurology unit in the hospital on Friday. He said that initially, the unit would be a 10-bed facility which would be expanded later and added that a neuro-physician and a neuro-surgeon had already been posted in the hospital.

Till the completion of the new unit, patients would be kept in the psychiatry ward, he said. The medical superintendent gave his assurance that patients would be provided with full medical support, including medicines.

PROTEST: Teachers affiliated with the Government Secondary Teachers Association took out a procession here on Friday to protest against being deprived of the award of selection grade.

Led by GSTA district president G. M. Abro and general secretary Zahid Hussain Hulio, the protesters held a demonstration outside the local press club. They alleged that the district coordination officer and the human resource DDO had cancelled what they called 'genuine' selection grades of teachers.

They demanded that justice should be provided to them and warned that the protest would continue till the acceptance of their demands. Later, the protesters observed a token hunger strike.
