5 workers killed near Pakpattan

VEHARI, July 1: Five labourers were killed and four others injured when a cotton factory wall fell on them near Pakpattan, 120km from here, on Thursday.

According to reports reaching here, nine labourers belonging to Mian Channu, after doing some repairs in Luqman Cotton Factory on the Sahiwal-Pakpattan road, were sitting near the factory's boundary wall.

A loaded trailer hit the wall and it fell on the labourers. Those who died on the spot were identified as Liaqat Ali, Shafi Muhammad, Waris Ali, Muhammad Amjad and Maqsood alias Baba. Two injured Saifullah and Anisur Rehman were rushed to the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, in a critical condition. While remaining of the wounded could not be identified.
