Talks with politicians to continue, says PM

ISLAMABAD, July 1: Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said on Thursday the PML government would continue negotiations with political forces present inside the country to have consensus on all political issues.

Talking to newsmen here at Punjab House at a dinner reception hosted by Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz, Mr Shujaat said the government could consult the political leaders present in the country on the issues of national importance.

He emphasized that the politicians should abide by their commitments and promises made during the political dialogues so that the democratic system could be further strengthened.

Replying to a question about the notification of the new cabinet ministers and their portfolios, the prime minister said it would be issued on Friday. Mr Shujaat said the PML had decided that Mr Aziz will contest the election on two seats, one from Tharparkar and the other from Attock.

Shujaat said the two MNAs - Arbab Zakaullah from NA-229 (Tharparkar), who is brother of Sindh Chief Minister Arab Ghulam Rahim, and Mrs Eman Waseem from NA-59 (Attock) - have resigned to vacate the seats for Mr Aziz and the Speaker has accepted their resignations. "Notification in this regard has been issued." -APP
