LAHORE, June 26: Aisam Qureshi of Pakistan and Gules Muller of Luxembourg played a close to perfect tennis to defeat the top seeds Goffi and Harel levy in the semifinal of the XIth Andorra Open International tennis championship but lost in the singles quarterfinals of the same event, said a message received on Saturday from Spain.

Aisam and partner won the first set at 6-0 without conceding a single game. The top seeds, however, roared back in the second set and stretched the set to a tie break but failed to stop Aisam and partner from grabbing it 7-6 (2).

Earlier, in the semifinal Aisam and Muller enforced a defeat on Lovro Zovko of Czech Republic Dusan Vemic with a straight set score of 7-6(4), 6-4.

In the final Aisam and Muller will clash the second seed Mexican pair of Alejandro Hernandez and Santiago Gonzalez.

However, Aisam ran out of luck in the singles quarter finals. Despite hitting 20 aces and innumerable winners Aisam lost to Alejandro Hernandez of Mexico. Hernandez is the most outstanding Mexican Davis Cupper and was specially lucky as he saved three set points in the first set eventually winning 7-6, 4-6, 6-4. -APP
