12 Sindh ministers take oath

KARACHI, June 25: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Friday night administered oath of office to 12 provincial ministers taking the strength of the cabinet to 14. Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim attended the ceremony.

Six of the ministers inducted at a ceremony at the Governor's House belong to Muttahida Qaumi Movement, five to Pakistan Muslim League and one to PPP-Patriots. Their portfolios were not announced.

The ministers are: PML's Pir Sadruddin Shah Rashdi, Arif Mustafa Jatoi, Irfanullah Khan Marwat, Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh and Sardar Nadir Akmal Leghari; PPP-Patriots' Sardar Manzoor Ahmad Panhwar and Muttahida's Shoaib Bokhari, Muhammad Adil Siddiqui, Mustafa Kamal, Qamar Mansoor, Rauf Siddiqui and Shabbir Qaimkhani.

The ceremony was conducted by outgoing chief secretary Dr Mutawakkil Kazi.

The two ministers earlier inducted into the cabinet are: Syed Sardar Ahmad of the MQM, who holds the portfolio of finance as senior minister and PML's Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmad who is minister for law and parliamentary affairs.
