LAHORE, June 25: Pakistan's Aisam Qureshi was all charged up against Croatian Davis Cupper Lovro Zovko as he breezed passed him 6-3,7-6 (4) to enter the quarterfinal of the X1th Open International tennis championship D'Andorra in the Spanish Peninsula in the South of Europe.

Aisam faced Lovro with great calmness and maintained an excellent shot selection discipline and clinched the first set hitting altogether 11 winners. He grabbed the second set and the match with his speedy approach and timely finish.

In the previous round, Aisam had a big match against the No. 7 seed who is a top 150 Brazilian player Franco Ferreiro.

Aisam played aggressively to clinch the first set in tie break with a 7-6 (3) score, but despite being a set and a break up he lost the second set 6-7(2).

In the third set once more Aisam was a break up but the Brazilian fought back to equalize. Despite this jittery situation Aisam kept cool and controlled his emotion.

He broke back at 5-5 and then on serve at 6-5 in the third finally Aisam hit three straight winners at 15-15 and won the game.

In the quarterfinal, Aisam will face Mexican Davis Cupper Aljandro Hernandez.

Earlier, in the qualifying rounds of this championship too, Aisam had a great win against Clement Morel.

In the doubles Aisam and Luxembourg's Gilles Muller outplayed the Czech pair of Tomas Cackl and Peter Klaret 7-5, 6-3 and will face Lovro Zovko and partner in the quarterfinal.-APP
