LARKANA, June 25: Three persons were killed and two sustained bullet injuries in an armed clash between two groups of villagers in Jumo Shaikh Goth, five kilometres off here, on Friday.

Those killed were identified as Faqeer Ali Nawaz, son of Ali Mohammed Shaikh; Wazeer Ali, son of Amir Bakhsh Shaikh; and Mehboob Ali, son of Ghulam Rasool Shaikh.

Their bodies were handed over to their relatives after autopsy.

Those injured, Sakina, wife of Mehboob, and three-year-old girl Nadia, were admitted to the Chandka Medical College Hospital.

After the clash, the people involved in it escaped, police said. However, after registering two counter FIRs against 10 persons, the Taluka police arrested Shahzado Shaikh.

A matrimonial dispute is said to be the cause of the clash.

SUSPENDED: DPO Abdul Sattar Detho suspended six policemen including an ASI and sent them to quarter guard on the charge of negligence in duty. They were on duty on Thursday when a policeman opened fire, killing an under-trial prison, Rabail Ali Shahani, and injuring another, Ahmed Ali Shahani, while they were being taken to a court.

Those suspended are ASI Mohammed Saleem Lashari, head constable Niaz Hussain and policemen Sohrab Khan, Ghulam Qadir, Mohammed Urs and Akhtar Hussain.

The DPO also ordered an inquiry against them.
