Security at places of worship enhanced


ISLAMABAD, June 24: Security arrangements at places of worship in the capital city were reviewed at a meeting here on Thursday. The meeting was attended by the officials of district administration , police and Ulema belonging to all schools of thought.

The meeting was informed that security arrangements at mosques and imambargahs had been enhanced in the wake of existing situation. The deputy commissioner, Islamabad, Tariq Mahmood Pirzada, who presided over the meeting, stressed the ulema to play their role in assisting the ICT administration and police to strengthen the security system at worship places as well as promoting sectarian harmony and brotherhood.

The ulema assured the administration that they were united in promoting sectarian harmony and vigilant in strengthening the internal security system of worship places as per the guidelines issued by the district administration.

The ulema who attended the meeting included Allama Akhtar Abbas, Ziaullah Khan, Muhammad Nazir Farooqi, Hafeezur Rehman, Abdul Waheed Qasmi, Abdull Qadoos, Hafiz Muhammad Ashfaq, Hafiz Muhammad Saleem Saeedi, Muhammad Sharif Hazarvi, Abdul Hakeem, Abdul Karim, Abdul Aziz Hanif, Qari Ghulam Rasool, Muhammad Hussain Chishti and Muhammad Ishaq. -APP
