SUKKUR, June 24: A PTCL dispensary established in the district is running without a doctor for one year.

An official of the dispensary told this correspondent that medicines were purchased on a regular basis but because a doctor was not available, employees, except for influential ones, were not being provided with the medicines.

A huge amount is spent in this head but majority of the employees remain deprived of medical facilities. The Southern Telecommunication Region-V consists of Sukkur, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Nawabshah, Larkana and Naushahro Feroze districts but dispensaries have only been established in Sukkur, Larkana and Nawabshah whereas employees of the other districts have to go to the nearest dispensary in cases of ailments.

The PTCL employees have demanded that authorities of the company should take a notice of irregularities being committed in provision of medical facilities.
