MIRPURKHAS: Many areas without water for three weeks

By Our Correspondent

MIRPURKHAS, June 24: Different areas of the city have not been supplied water for three weeks, causing hardships to people.

Residents of Jamnadas, Pak, Hameedpura, Ghosia and Nawab colonies, Adam town, Taqi Shah Para, Gulshan-i-Rehmania, Chhuttoo Khaskheli, Baloch Para, Tata Mill, Toorabad, Dholanabad, Mehmoodabad, Walkart, Hirabad and Naipara complained that they had not been supplied water for three weeks.

They said they had to get water through hand pumps. They said they had complained to authorities concerned on several occasions but to no avail. They demanded that the Sindh chief minister and the governor should take notice of the matter and ensure regular supply of water to their localities.

REPLACEMENT SOUGHT: The district government has decided to ask for replacement of civil surgeon Dr Saleem Raza Memon for his failure to look after the affairs of the Civil Hospital in a proper manner, leading to loose administration.

District Nazim Shafqat Hussain Jilani presided over the meeting held here on Thursday and attended by EDO (health) Dr Fazal Illahi Yousfani and DCO Siddique Memon besides others.
