'Solution to crisis lies in fresh polls'

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, June 23: Former PML-Q president Mian Azhar says the ruling party leaders, who have been linking their politics with Gen Musharraf and his uniform , are now distancing themselves from him and urging the religious alliance to give the general a tough time.

In a statement here on Wednesday, he said the general would soon find out who was his friend or foe. He said the solution to the prevailing political crisis lay in fresh elections.

Mian Azhar alleged that those who had been showering praise on Gen Musharraf were now waiting for his successor. He said such leaders were now preventing their colleagues from issuing statements in favour of Gen Musharraf's uniform.

MMA: The MMA is likely to extend its support to PML-N candidate for PP-156 Naseer Bhutta. An announcement in this respect is expected on Thursday.

PROTEST CAMP: The PPP will set up a protest camp in front of the Punjab Assembly Secretariat on Friday to register its resentment against the murder of Munawwar Suharwardi.
