SWABI, June 23: District Nazim Jehanzeb Khan said on Wednesday the district government would provide sport facilities to all schools and educational institutions and construct another stadium to enable the young generation to participate in healthy activities.

Mr Khan was speaking as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the Shaheen Hockey Federation tournament at Salim Khan village here. He said Rs100,000 would be provided by the district government for upgrading the grounds in the village.

A committee, he said, should be constituted for this purpose to finalize all the arrangements with the district government. Without physical capability, he further said, the students could not achieve outstanding positions in their respective fields.

Mr Khan said competition around the globe was very tough and those who lagged behind in the field of education would never be able to materialize their dreams. That was why the government was giving importance to the education sector.

District Naib Nazim Liaquat Ahmad Khan has given Rs2,000 to the organizers of the tournament. SHF President Shaheen Khan Yousafzai said each year the federation organized a hockey tournament in which key teams of the district participated. The Shahbaz Hockey Club, Kalu Khan, won the final by defeating the Prince Hockey Club, Kernel Sher Kili. Later, the district nazim gave away prizes to the winning team.
