KAARACHI: Donation boxes, graffiti be removed - IG


KARACHI, June 22: Sindh Inspector General of Police Syed Kamal Shah on Monday directed the police to immediately remove all donation boxes fixed outside hotels, general stores, bakeries and shops.

He also directed the removal of wall chalkings of any kind, and and warned that in future, the SHO concerned would be held responsible and action would be taken against him for such wall chalkings.

The IGP issued these directives in a meeting with senior officers of police. DIG Operations/CCPO Tariq Jamil was also present in the meeting. He was of the view that the donation collected through said boxes could be used for subversive activities.

Kamal also instructed that it be ensured that no literature, pamphlets, posters, handbills, that might cause hatred and tension among different segments of society, were published and distributed.

Vigil should also be kept on those delivering speeches invoking religious hatred, and misusing loudspeakers for the purpose. He directed that action under the law should be taken against such persons.

HIGHWAYS SECURITY: Sindh IGP Syed Kamal Shah, on Tuesday, directed the CCPO Karachi and RPOs of Hyderabad and Sukkur to ensure extra ordinary security measures on highways.

Taking strong notice of increasing incidents of dacoities and crimes on highway, he said the respective SHO would be held responsible for crimes on the highways in future and strict disciplinary action would be taken against him. -PPI/APP
