KARACHI: Report sought on water shortage


KARACHI, June 19: Chief Secretary Dr Mutawakkil Kazi has directed the authorities concerned to solve the problem of water shortage in Lyari Town.

He issued this directive to Additional Chief Secretary Local Government, DCO Karachi and Managing Director of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.

According to a statement issued here on Saturday, the chief secretary sent a newspaper clipping regarding the problem to the officers concerned and sought clarification report within next three days.

On the reports about auction of the material of Civil Hospital Karachi, illegal charged parking in the hospital and suicide attempt by a nurse, the chief secretary sought report from secretary health within next three days.

Taking notice of the public complaints about heaps of garbage, illegal bus stand and keeping of horses under Liaquatabad Flyover, Mr Kazi sought report from Additional Chief Secretary Local Government and DCO Karachi.

According to a news report the UC Nazim concerned had granted permission to two transporters for establishing bus stand under the flyover.

The chief secretary also sought report from secretary food over reported hike in atta prices. -PPI
