By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH, June 19: Two persons, including a young girl, were killed on pretext of Karo-kari in Sabu Rahu village, near Sakrand, on Saturday.

Saforan, 25, was strangled to death by her brother, Ismail Talpur, who later attacked and killed his guest, Jan Mohammad alias Jannu Machi, 50, with a club. He suspected that Jan Mohammad was maintaining illicit relations with his sister.

Bodies of the victims were brought to the People's Medical Centre Hospital for autopsy.

Father of the deceased girl, Mian Bakhsh, has lodged an FIR with the Sakrand police against his absconding son.

Prison van attacked: A prison van of the district jail carrying Ismail Dahri, former private secretary to Asif Zardari, was fired upon by some unidentified persons on the VIP road on Friday.

The prison staff was taking Mr Dahri from the People's Medical College hospital to the jail after a medical check-up.

When the van came on the VIP road some unidentified armed men opened fires on it and escaped.

The van inmates were miraculously saved.

An FIR was lodged at the A-Section police station against unidentified assailants.
