HARIPUR, June 19: A union naib nazim was removed through a vote of no confidence here on Saturday. About 12 union councilors had moved a no trust motion against naib nazim union council Kalinjar Sagheer Ahmad on June 13 but a local civil court granted stay against the move on the application of Sagheer Ahmad.

However, the court vacated the stay on June 16.

The group of 12 councilors later convened a special session of the UC where they voted in favour of their resolution voting out the naib nazim from his seat.

Meanwhile, the Tehsil nazim Iftekhar Ahmad Khan termed it a move backed by district nazim Dr Raja Amer Zaman who had earlier supported the same action against naib nazim Hattar Syed Zulfiqar Shah.
