Probables named for 'A' camp

LAHORE, June 17: Twenty-three probables are invited to attend the Pakistan 'A' cricket training camp starting from July 12. The camp is being set up to finalise the Pakistan 'A' team to tour Kenya from Aug 5 to 22 to take part in tri-nation tournament also involving India 'A' and the hosts.

Pakistan will open the tour with a four-day match against Kenya. A PCB spokesman said that the chief selector Wasim Bari has said some of the senior team probables, failing to win places in the Asia Cup squad would be included in the 'A' team camp.

Probables:

Batsmen: Taufiq Umar (Lahore), Babar Naeem (Rawalpindi), Asif Zakir (Karachi), Naved Latif (Sargodha), Naumanullah (Karachi), Shahid Yousuf (Sialkot), Usman Tariq (Bahawalpur), Naveed Qureshi (Rawalpindi), Shadab Kabir (Karachi), Shoaib Khan (Peshawar), Afaq Rahim (Azad Kashmir), Naseem Khan (Quetta), Faisal Athar (Hyderabad).

All-rounders: Qaiser Abbas (Sialkot), Salman Qadir (Lahore), Junaid Zia (Rawalpindi), Bilal Asad (Rawalpindi).

Spinners: Mansoor Amjad (Sialkot), Azam Hussain (Karachi).

Wicket-keeper: Zulqarnain (Lahore).

Fast bowlers: Nasir Khan (Karachi), Mohammad Irshad (Multan), Mohammad Khalil (Lahore).

Aug 11: Pakistan 'A' v Kenya.
