India cancels matches in England

LONDON, June 16: India have cancelled two one-day matches on their tour of England in August because of a busy playing schedule, England & Wales Cricket Board said. The scrapped fixtures were scheduled to take place against Somerset at Taunton on Thursday, August 26 and two days later against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

The Indian tour party will now arrive in England on August 29 prior to the NatWest Challenge. They will play three one-day Internationals against England at Trent Bridge on Wednesday, Sept 1, at The Oval on Friday, Sept 3 and at Lord's on Sept 5.

The Indians were also due to take part in a triangular series involving Australia and Pakistan in Amstelveen, near Amsterdam from Aug 21 to 30. They are also taking part in the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka involving five other teams from July 16 to August 1. -PPI
