KARACHI, June 16: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) will take out a peace rally on June 27 from Mazar-i-Quaid to Tibet Centre. This was decided in a meeting headed by president MMA Karachi and leader of Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) Hafiz Muhammad Taqi held at Idara Noor-i-Haq on Wednesday.
Opposition leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, MMA leader Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Prof Shah Faridul Haq, Allama Sajid Naqvi, Prof Sajid Mir and Maulana Samiul Haq would also take part in the rally.
The meeting criticised the attack on motorcade of corps commander, and termed it the utter failure of intelligence network of national security agencies. The meeting also demanded removal of Sindh governor for failing to maintain peace in the city.
It also called upon the police to arrest the real culprits behind terrorism. The meeting condemned and expressed its resentment over the illegal detention of Ulema across the city, and said the police should avoid such acts. - PPI
