8 more die in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, June 15: Militants shot dead the brother of a lawmaker in occupied Kashmir while seven other people were killed and 10 more injured in other incidents on Tuesday and Monday night.

Mohammed Rajab Dar was shot dead when he was on the way to attend his rice fields in the Dangerpora locality, near Sopore town, 50kms north of Srinagar.

Rajab Dar is the brother of Abdul Rashid, a lawmaker representing Sopore constituency in the held state's 87-member assembly. -AFP
