QUETTA, June 15: Balochistan National Party-Mengal Secretary-General Habib Jalib Baloch has alleged that irregularities have been committed in the recruitment of teachers in the Kalat district.
Speaking at a Press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Tuesday, he claimed that his party stood for pure merit when it came to selection of teachers or any other post in the provincial government as only merit could rid the province of the present backwardness.
He, however, regretted that in appointments for the posts of teachers in Kalat, the rule of merit was trampled and undeserving candidates were selected.
He said on June 10 tests for the recruitment of teachers had been held in Kalat but some education department and Unicef officials allegedly interfered in written examinations and helped some candidates to ensure their success.
He said his party, being part of Ponam, would continue to support those efforts of the government which were aimed at the better standard of education in the province as the BNP-M believed that only better education and knowledge could ensure better future and prosperity for the people of the province.
