MIRAMSHAH, June 14: Three members of the Frontier Corps were killed and three others seriously wounded when militants blew up an FC truck near Eidak on Mirali road with a remote-controlled bomb on Monday morning.
The FC truck was going from Miramshah to the Mirali town when it was blown up by the bomb, killing three security men on the spot. Officials said that the truck was blown up with a remote- controlled bomb, which was planted in the middle of the road.
Those killed in the blast have been identified as subedar Yar Mohammad, lance naik Banaras and driver Taj Rehman. The injured have been identified as lance naik Shaukat, sepoy Nawaz Ali and sepoy Abbas Ali. They were first taken to the Agency Headquarters Hospital and then were shifted to Peshawar in a helicopter.
Officials of the political administration and Frontier Constabulary reached the spot soon after the blast and cordoned off the entire area. Later, the authorities launched a crackdown against residents of Eidak village and arrested a number of tribesmen and sealed shops and other property in the area under Section 40 of the Frontier Crimes Regulation.
