PSF plans to upgrade all squash courts

PESHAWAR, June 11: Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) senior vice president Air Vice Marshal Rashad Kaleem has said that PSF will upgrade to international level all existing squash courts across the country in order to provide standardized environment to players.

Rashad, who was flanked by former world champion Qamar Zaman and secretary PSF Sajid Waheed, told newsmen that PSF prepared the plan so that players would not face difficulties in adjusting to environment elsewhere.

He said that a total of nine glass-wall courts with wooden floor would be prepared with one champion court at Hashim Khan Squash Complex. The champion court will have a fully air conditioned spectator's gallery with a seating capacity of around 150 to 200, besides players changing rooms, a place for TV crew, media box etc on which the PSF was spending Rs7 million.

He said that the federation was organizing 13 International tournaments every year so that those who failed to appear in international events in England and Australia, would get international exposure and have their rankings improved. -PPI
