PCB to scrutinize elections of LCCA, KCCA
By Our Sports Correspondent
LAHORE, June 11: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to conduct scrutiny and subsequent elections of the LCCA and the KCCA in July, triggering a conflict like situation with the two big associations of the country.
The PCB has advised all the affiliated and non-affiliated clubs of both the associations to send the details of their clubs latest by June 30. It may be mentioned that the LCCA has already completed the first round of its elections at the zonal level.
The association is likely to issue the agenda of its elections on Monday. The elections will be held after completion of 15-day mandatory period between the issuance of the agenda and the elections.
The LCCA's zonal elections were completed with some 20 clubs protesting for denial of right of vote. They staged a demonstration in front of the PCB office on Thursday.
Interestingly, the PCB was reluctant to hold the elections of both the LCCA for the last two years under the pretext of waiting for the approval of a new constitution. But when the LCCA started the process of elections, the PCB jumped into the process.
