PORT-OF-SPAIN, June 10: Brian Lara says he's rejuvenated and excited to take on England and New Zealand, days after threatening to resign as West Indies captain after a poor first Test against Bangladesh.
The West Indies rallied in the second Test for a victory on Monday, turning the team's spirits in time for the one-day series in England, he wrote in his regular column in Wednesday's Trinidad Guardian.
The first Test was drawn in St Lucia, prompting Lara to say he'd quit as skipper if the West Indies didn't beat Bangladesh in the second match in Jamaica.
The West Indies team heads to England on Saturday for the triangular series with England and New Zealand to start on June 16 ahead of a four-match Test series against England. -APP/AP
