LAHORE, June 10: After Zimbabwe's decision not to play any Test in 2004, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will go for two options to avoid financial losses in case of cancellation of the home series against them in October-November.
A PCB spokesman said on Thursday that the PCB would persuade Zimbabwe to convert the scheduled two Test and five One-day match home series into six One-dayers. Secondly, the PCB would see the possibility of making it either a triangular or a quadrangle tournament by inviting one or two more countries.
The spokesman was hopeful that the board would be able to generate US $ 600,000 by staging the one-day series to avoid any financial losses due to non coverage of TV. The spokesman further said the PCB was ready to assist Zimbabwe by all means and would defend its Test status.
