ISLAMABAD, June 9: Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) scored a comfortable five wicket victory over Rawalpindi on Wednesday in the NBP-ICA Inter-district Super Cup, thanks to fine knocks by Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal.

In a match reduced to 39 overs-a-side because of overnight rain, Lahore overhauled Rawalpindi's 199, Salman scoring a solid 95 and Kamran cracking 60. Rawalpindi despite Afaq Rahim's innings of 80 and Sohail Nasir's 43 were unable to put on a fighting total.

In another match played at the Marghazar Ground, Gujranwala routed Chakwal in a seven-wicket stroll. Majid Saeed captured four wickets for just two runs while Muzaffar picked up three to bundle out Chakwal for only 199 in 24.2 overs.

Gujranwala then needed just 9.3 overs to achieve victory with Muhammad Shahzad scoring 35 and Majid Saeed remaining unbeaten on 31.

CHAKWAL 99 in 24.2 overs (Sohail Rukhsar 24, Nasir Hussain 22; Majid Saeed 4-2, Muzaffar 3-35, Kamran Shahzad 2-20);

GUJRANWALA 101-3 in 9.3 overs (Mohammad Shahzad 35, Majid Saeed 31 not out; Mohammad Younis 2-37).

At Shalimar Ground: Karachi beat Attock by eight wickets.

ATTOCK 94 in 23.4 overs (Mohammad Bilal 41; Fahad Khan 2-18, Irfanuddin 2-14);

KARACHI 95-2 in 22 overs (Shadab Kabir 41 not out, Naumanullah 31).

At Army Cricket Ground: Combined XI beat Jhelum by eight wickets.

JHELUM 116 in 36 overs (Yousuf Khan 27, Shahid 18; Noorul Amin 4-16, Adnan Raees 2-21, Saeed Afzal 2-24);

COMBINED XI 117-2 in 16 overs (Adnan Mufti 70 not out, Adeem Arif 24).
