MUZAFFARABAD: Accident claims four lives in AJK

MUZAFFARABAD, June 9: A driver and three members of a family, including an infant, were killed in an accident near here on Wednesday. Police said another member of the family was critically injured when the jeep it was travelling in fell off the road on the rocky riverbank near Chalpani.

They said Mohammad Rafi, his wife Gulnaz, three-year-old daughter Qudsia and another 4-month-old daughter were travelling in a rented jeep, driven by Mohammad Safir, towards their village, Kundlan, when the driver lost control over it.

Mohammed Rafi drowned in River Neelum, Gulnaz and her infant daughter died on the spot and her other daughter while the driver suffered critical wounds and were brought to the combined military hospital here.

The driver expired at the hospital and the condition of the girl was stated to be critical. The body of Mojammed Rafi was fished out in Chattar area.
