Eight die as bus falls into ravine

ABBOTTABAD, June 8: At least eight people were killed and 22 others injured when a Rawalpindi-bound bus fell into a deep ravine near Lora village Havelian on Tuesday morning.

The bus, on its way to Rawalpindi from Ghambeer Kohala, when reached near at Lora village, went out of control of the driver because of overspeeding and fell into the deep ravine.

Those who died in the accident have been identified as Mohammad Siddique, Yaseen, Zahir, Sarfaraz Begum, Kanwal Bibi, Haleema, Muhammad Anwar. An Afghan refugee, who was also killed in the accident, could not be identified till our going to press.

The injured were taken to Muree and Rawalpindi hospitals. It was learnt that the bus was overloaded and the rash driving was stated to be the reason behind the accident.
