HYDERABAD, June 6: A two-year-old girl died of gastroenteritis at the Bhitai Hospital's paediatrics ward here on Saturday night, rising the death toll from diseases caused by consumption of contaminated water of the Indus river to 31 in the district since May 15.
The chief medical officer of the hospital, Dr Imtiaz, confirmed the death of the girl, Iqra, daughter of Aslam, a resident of Latifabad-12.
